Reactive Doom

Reactive Doom is a work in progress that transforms the classic first-person shooter Doom into an interactive musical instrument. Reactive Doom does not merely replace sound effects or music in the game, but instead parses the game’s console text output to be interpreted by the Max Patch and then realized as musical sound. This Max patch can be executed on a local machine (with both the game and Max patch running simultaneously), or through a secure terminal connection between two machines.

This project utilizes GZDoom, OpenSSH, and Max9.

You can download the work in progress patch here.
